JR had the opportunity to preach on Ash Wednesday. The same day I had my interview to stay on with my current company in Colorado. It was definitely a big day. His sermon was about loving ourselves despite our brokenness. That, yes, we do have things in this Lenten season that we can bring to God to work on, but this doesn't necessarily mean we stop daily trying to have patience and love for ourselves. JR and I talk about this all the time as something I am constantly working towards, so it was wonderful to hear it as a larger message. Even if he did frame his sermon with Star Wars (nerd).
